Where can I have a romantic beach holiday without the rowdy crowds?

Posted by admin on September 29th, 2009 and filed under beach holiday | 12 Comments »

I am hoping to go on holiday with my boyfriend in August or September and we know we want to go somewhere nice and hot with beaches, but we want it to be classy and picturesque with no tackiness or chavvy "Brits abroad" crowds (sorry to sound snobbish!). We would like to go somewhere in Europe but we just don’t know where would be best. I’d love to hear your suggestions!

Taba in egypt is good. Its not near the tourist bit of sharmel shiek. It is literally in the middle of no-where. You have to take your passport with you when you go off site!

What kind of plants would give my garden and/or planters the beach cottage feel? (east coast)?

Posted by admin on September 29th, 2009 and filed under beach cottages | 3 Comments »

I love the beach and I was wondering what plants I could use to give my garden and platers that beachy feel. Can anyone help?

I love the beach too, and the one thing you see more than anything there is pampas grass. Find out if this will grow for you, and if not, then get smaller ornamental grasses to add to your landscape. You can also add potted palms (bring indoors in winter), ornamental evergreens, and beach pebbles. In planters you can use spikes and they will actually grow tall and palm looking if you bring them in over the winter.

Where can I find a beach house to rent around the Virginia Beach area? (non-family group)?

Posted by admin on September 29th, 2009 and filed under beach realty | 1 Comment »

My friends and I have been looking to find a vacation home near the beach…anywhere near Virginia Beach. We had a place booked until they pointed out to us that the majority of beach homes are strictly for family groups only (Mother, Father, children, Grandparents and extended family). What I have are 15 young students, both High School and College Students combined. We just want to find a house to relax, get away from New York, chill on the beach and of course do the recreational stuff around the area. We have tried both Sandbridge Realty and Siebert Realty. Have any idea?

try craigs list for that area

What kind of fish are at the Ocean Beach Pier in San Diego?

Posted by admin on September 29th, 2009 and filed under ocean beach | 1 Comment »

Dad and I are going fishing at the Ocean Beach Pier in San Diego; I used to know the website to tell what kind of fish are there but I lost it.

If you have fished there, can you let me know what kind of fish are biting there (first time pier fishing)?

All the information you’ll ever need.

whats the easiest way to find seasonal beach house rentals?

i want to live down either in DE beaches or ocean city MD beaches for next summer. would my best bet be to surf the web or actually find a realtor to take/show me down there. ive been trying to look online but im not having any luck!

Hi Kelly,
I have always been able to find great deals on beach houses in North Carolina and South Carolina where we go by doing it online. I checked the Ocean City and Delaware information and found the following sites that look really good:

Ocean City:
http://www.vrbo.com/vacation-rentals/usa/maryland
http://www.oceancitybeachproperties.com/
http://www.resortquestdelaware.com/ocean-city-vacation-rentals.htm

Delaware:
http://www.homeaway.com/Vacation-rentals/Delaware-vacation-rentals.htm
http://www.beach-net.com/REdel.html

You probably need to narrow it down a little more in Delaware to get more accurate information.
Hope this helps.
Good luck and have fun!!

Has anyone been to that gorgeously bohemian nudist beach in Corfu?

Posted by admin on September 29th, 2009 and filed under nudist beach | 5 Comments »

I’ve just returned from Corfu. I can’t remember the name of the beach but anyone who’s visited it will know exactly where I’m talking about. Did any of you know Stella who sold jewellery there? One of the few genuinely totally relaxing nudist beaches around. I loved it.
Yes it was Myrtiotissa

not been there
but Croatia has beautiful clear water nudist beaches on the Istria peninsula

What are some of the songs played at beach resorts (Sandals)?

Posted by admin on September 29th, 2009 and filed under beach resorts | 2 Comments »

We just came back from a week-long vacation in St. Lucia and had so much fun on the beach and in the pool with the dj playing all day. Some of it was reggae (lots of Bob Marley!) but there were other great party songs. Can anyone think of any that they’ve heard at resorts lately?

You can grab a copy of Carnival Steel Drum band on amazon.

Don’t Worry Be Happy
Jammin’
Two Pina Coladas
Margaritaville
Hot Hot Hot
Tequila
Mambo #5
Spanish Eyes
Groovin
Red Red Wine
Kokomo
Three Li’l Birds
Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da
Day-o
Volcano
Escape
The Tide is High
Copacabana
Kenny Chesney’s newest cd has tropical things like
Keys in the Conch Shell
Tequila Loves me
Key Lime Pie

Some modern type stuff like
Shaggy, Sean Paul, Black Eyed Peas, Sean Kingston

My sister is getting married in St Thomas and we just bought three of the Carnival Steel Drum cds to play at her wedding (they have about 2 dozen different ones). You could also mix in the real version of some of those instrumental songs.

My family wants to take a beach vacation this summer but can’t really think of any good ideas. We do usually like a beach with waves and definitely fun things to do in the area like golfing. We were also thinking a beach on the east coast. Any recommendations or suggestions?

Hunting Beach Island-South Carolina
Florida Keys
Prince Edward Island-Canada
Savannah-Georgia

I’ve been to these places and they are great!
I suggest that if you have any youngins take then to Universial or Disney World in Florida
