Where should we go for a great family beach holiday this summer along the NSW coast?

We live in Hay and will be driving to get there.

Stuarts Point is a lovely relaxed place for a holiday. It is located on the riverfront and the beach is just across the river’s footbridge and along a mostly level track – takes about 8 minutes at the most.

My family and I stayed at Stuarts Point Holiday Park in one of the cabins (there is camping as well) and enjoyed fishing in both the river and on the beach. There are tennis courts next door, a children’s playground along the riverfront and some people choose to moor their boats along the sandy bank. I hear they have some entertainment during the Christmas holidays as well but we weren’t there during the holidays.

Exploring the bush walking track that followed the river through native bushland from Stuarts Point to Grassy Head makes for a nice way to spend a couple of hours. The village shops are all within walking distance too.

Yarrahappini National park is about 10 minutes away and is worth visiting. The further into it you go, the more tropical it becomes with palms, ferns and stag horns. A 4WD is the best bet as there are shallow creeks that cross the road after rain – very pretty.

If you are down in Hay I would recommend the far NSW Coast, Narooma, Pambula and Merimbula even Eden, they are all fantastic. I had a mate of mine work at the Hay Police Station he was a Detective there in the early 90′s.

I would say Manyana on the south coast. It is a very well kept secret and there is lots to do down there – surfing, walking, you can even see Kangaroos at dusk.
