Are there any decent family hotels/resorts in Daytona beach?

I am planning for a road trip to Daytona Beach from KY. Its going to be me & two others in my family (no kids). My wife is very concerned about safety issues & our other relative is new to the country. We have never been to Daytona Beach & thought to go there. Does anyone know a decent family hotel/resort that would be within our budget of about $60-80 per night. Also if anyone can give me details of the local attractions, it will be splendid. Thanks.
