Is haggling allowed at swanky shops at Philippine beach resorts?

Filipino’s just love to haggle. Be it in a swanky shop or in a lowly hole in the wall vendor at divisoria. Allowable or not, we will haggle, and haggle, and haggle.

Haggling is generally only approved of at small independant retailers and stalls. This stands for anywhere that haggling is culturally acceptable.

Haggling is allowed everywhere — so as long as you’re prepared to accept possible rejection! ;)

Well, I guess I wouldn’t haggle at the Amanpulo giftshop. But that’s just because I’m scared they’ll escort me off their thousand-dollar-a-night private island. ;)

Expect the unexpected. lol .. I usually haggle if it’s just a small but swanky shop.. some would love to give you a discount if they are pleased by you.. so if you want to try it then wear your sweetest smile and use all the sweet and pleasant words you can ever think of. <*-*>
