What is the best vacation spot in Pinellas County Florida (i.e best beach and resorts)?

Maybe someone can tell me the best spots in Pinellas County and the best beach spots. Also the best night life spots. I will be visiting soon and probably will be staying at one of the hotels near the beach. Also, I would welcome areas I should stay away from

Pinellas county is home to Caladesi Island State Park which is America’s #1 Beach for 2008. The beach is located in Dunedin, Florida

Pinellas county is also home to Ft. Desoto Park which consistently ranks in America’s top 10 beaches. In 2005 it was ranked the #1 Beach in the nation.

I have personally been to all of these beaches many times and you will not be disappointed.

As far as nightlife goes Shepard’s on Clearwater Beach is the place to go. The resorts in South Pinellas are Tradewinds (pretty good nightlife), Grand Plaza Resort, Don Cesar (upscale resort known as the "pink palace"), The Vinoy in downtown St. Pete, etc.

Downtown St. Pete has several options for nightlife also. A few are:
