where in greece is a nice place for a beach holiday?

Posted by admin on March 7th, 2010 and filed under beach holiday | 5 Comments »

i’m looking for a nice beach resort in greece where it’s not crowded and not too expensive, practical, value for money for 3 adults. please advice, thanks.

I’v been in many places in Greece but Kefalonia Island it’s impresed me most! There you have the most stunning beaches with sky blue color.

The most popular Myrtos is just one of those: http://www.travelkefalonia.com/kefalonia-beaches/myrtos.html

I travel around the island and there’s Skala, Poros or my favorit Sami! Sami its nice nice town with history. And beautiful beaches around…so enjoy…

Recommendations for hot, sunny, affordable, beach holiday destinations in September?

Posted by admin on March 5th, 2010 and filed under beach holiday | 5 Comments »

Hi there. My girlfriend and I are looking to spend 2-3 weeks on holiday this September.

We’re aiming to head somewhere hot and sunny, with beaches and plenty to keep couples entertained for this period of time.

We’re looking to do the above at an affordable price – roughly no more than £800 (1300$) per person, hence the reason we’ve chosen September.

If anyone could make any recommendations, perhaps built on personal experience, it would be greatly appreciated!

Many Thanks

I did a 2 city break in Brussels and Bruges 2 years ago, so was thinking of something similar.
Any recommendations , which 2 european cities would be good to take in in 1 week.
Not in Ireland or the Uk, as I live in Ireland and been to the Uk loads of times. I save them for the weekends.

Definitely Berlin – absolutely fabulous city, great shops (designer and department stores), the zoo is fantastic….no cages to be seen (great no matter what age you are), the city is also very historical. We took a train out to one of the concentration camps – it was a very moving experience.

I live in Ireland also, so I know you can get some great deals on flights. If you do decide to visit Berlin, check out the Swiss Hotel – it’s so central to everything, and one the "better" side of the city, in my opinion anyway. I know you asked for 2 suggestions for one week-sorry I can’t be more specific on other cities close by, but for another trip, I would recommend Barcelona. My advice would be to stay away from La Rambla and base yourself nearer the port/beach. A truly wonderful city also.
Have a good time, wherever you decide to go.

I’ve looked at Thailand and the flights are a little pricey. I’m just wondering if there is anywhere closer to home or somewhere I maybe haven’t thought of.

Thanks in advance for you help.

I don’t know where you live, but Panama City Florida is pretty cool. I’ve been to Thailand, and those beaches are very nice indeed.

Does anybody know where to go for a good beach holiday, with stuff to do for a 19 year old?

I am looking to go on holiday with my boyfriend for the first time (with him and abroad). I have been searching online for a good place to go to but the destination and the list of activities are a bit basic sometimes.
I am looking for a beach holiday with such things as water sports, animals such as dolphins, good restaurants, just somewhere thats fun.
I was looking at turkey, would you agree, any advice or experience given would be nice.

El Salvador is amazing, and it’s not too touristy.

Where to go on an short international beach holiday?

Where should we go? We’re a couple in our late 20s. We have about 10 days, a budget of $4000AUD all inclusive and a desire to relax and have some fun. We’ve considered Thailand, Vietnam, Bali and Hawaii.
As well as answering the question, advice on budget per day and ideas for decent accommodation in Thailand will help too :)

Where for an amazing beach holiday in May with lots to see and do BUT without jabs or malaria tablets?

Posted by admin on February 18th, 2010 and filed under beach holiday | 11 Comments »

My wife and I want a memorable holiday in May – hot weather, great beaches and lots to see and do – BUT we don’t want to have to have jabs or take malaria tablets. Any ideas.

I can strongly recommend Corralejo in Fuerteventura.
We have been there several times over the years and it has always been brilliant.
It is so relaxing, with beautiful beaches, friendly people, great food and loads to see and do.
There are loads of watersports and scuba diving if you want to do them but no pressure if you don’t.
There are also quite a few clubs and bars etc, but it is not shoved in your face all the time like it is in some places and it is just as easy to go for a romantic stroll along the beach and stop at one of the restaurants by the harbour – El Tren is very good.
As for places to stay; I can recommend either the Lobos Bahia Club or Los Delphines Apartments – both very nice and very clean as well as being good value.
As it is a tax free island there are also some great bargains to be had in the numerous electronics shops – remember to haggle though!
The weather is fantastic all year round and in May it should be around 80 degrees although take sun screen as there is a contant cooling breeze so sometimes you don’t realise how warm the sun can be.
You can also take the glass bottomed ferry across to Lanzarote for some serious shopping. The boat does some detours along the way to go dolphin and whale spotting – take a camera.
Have a look at www. fuertevenuta.com
I’m planning to go back again soon!

Where to go for a relaxing, beach-included holiday in Greece?

Posted by admin on February 16th, 2010 and filed under beach holiday | 12 Comments »

My boyfriend is very stressed out with his job and wants to go on holiday to Greece. No tacky tourist destinations. Nice weather. With beach (not pebbled, please.) Relaxation is a must.

But where to go? I’m finding it surprisingly difficult to find much easily digestible information as there are so many possible destinations. I’m very concerned about picking an area and finding it heaving with nightclubs and tourist tack. I really don’t want that!

Can anyone recommend somewhere?

Thanks!

Buy a ticket to Athens or Kalamata, then rent a car and drive to Finikounda (400 km from Athens or 60 kms from Kalamata). It is a small fishing village, few tourists, great food, cheap accomodation (no need for reservation). Its a place where you will love for ever.
