We are from Seattle and would only have one week open for travel so preferably somewhere fairly closer (any plane ride longer than 12 hours would cut our vacation way too short). Any suggestions would be great on where we should go. We are also curious on when a good time to book would be? Many places I’ve researched it is off season, however prices really do not seem to reflect that.

Some places I’ve researched (since July is Hurricane season I have taken that into account during my research):

Cabo San Lucas
Puerto Vallarta
Aruba (outside of Hurricane Belt)
Bonaire (outside of Hurricane Belt)
Curacao (outside of Hurrican Belt)
Hawaii (Maui, and Kaui…though every time I check Hawaii travel prices are SKY HIGH!)

Caro and Puerto Vallarta are getting to be very dangerous

How about La Jolla / San Diego??

Myrtle Beach S.C. is a very family orientated fun place to visit.

We already know about all the main ones (Outerbanks, Virginia Beach, Ocean City, Myrtle Beach, and of course the main beach cities in Florida).. but are there any other really nice beach towns that aren’t perhaps as highly visited? We’re trying to watch our budget as well and if you can offer any accomodation suggestions that would be great!

I would like to suggest either Oak Island, Ocracoke Island or Holden Beach. Technically Ocracoke is part of the Outer Banks but it is really a destination unto itself. Very nice beaches! They are totally unspoiled b/c they are part of the national park system and hence, free from commercial development. Check it out:
