My mom thinks my idea is stupid. BTW, I have a small room sort of, and I LOVE space. Right now I have no space….
mom’s idea- just keep your bed and dress it up (but I have no idea how to dress it up as a sea theme, any ideas?)
my idea – since its a beach theme, in a corner put a net hammock and put pillows, fancy covers, and cushions on it.
ANY IDEAS?????

Depends on which room it is…
For a bathroom, I found these cute accessories, fixtures and cabinet hardware: http://www.uncommongoods.com/item/item.jsp?itemId=16017
You can also pick up shells on the beach, clean them out well (soak them in water for a few days) and super glue them around your bathroom mirror to create a "beachy" border.
For a kids’ room, paint a mural on the wall. They sell "paint by number" mural kits and it’s easier to do than you would think. I have painted several murals in my daughter’s room and they turn out great and are very original.
For an adult bedroom, I would get a ceiling fan with the blades shaped like palms, white flowy curtains that look like clouds and some pale blue paint for the walls. Get some decor that is beachy (i.e. a vase filled with shells) and some beach artwork.
I don’t know what room the SAT will take place in at CSU Long Beach. If anyone can tell me where I can find the info or give me what room it is in I’ll be very grateful. It’s tomorrow by the way. A map would be helpful too. Thank you once again.
They will take you to a big room and from there, they will take you where to go.
good luck!
Hey everyone! I could use some help. I’m a teen and I want to redo my room. I was thinking that a beach themed room would be SO cool, because I love the beach, although I don’t live near one. I have a beautiful navy blue quilt that my grandma made. I really want to use that, but I don’t know how to really match that with a beach themed room. I love the color blue for my walls and for anything! i also like sea shells, dolphins, and things like that. Most of the places I’ve found that have beach themed items, are too "OLD". Please give me something to work with! Thanks! God Bless
Sand, sand lots of sand.. NO just kidding that would be a nightmare !! Maybe with your grandma’s quilt you can make pillows from beach towels.. .LIke the "old fashioned" red/white striped towels.. That would be cute ! You could go a little "retro" and get one of those lamps filled with all sorts of sea shells, but put a cool shade on top ! Depending on the size/shape of your room you could use a cool beachy type chair as extra seating or a reading chair! For my friends room we were able to contact J. Crew which was popular at the time and get a life size poster of a model he was at the beach.. So, we cut him out and used him on her wall ! Maybe something like that.. Use an Ambercrombie/Fitch AD beachy scene on the walls or better yet snap some photo’s of you and your friends at the beach or pool.. Use a waterproof disposable so you dont’ ruin a good camera ! Do, you know anyone that’s good at art? If so get an old window pane and take out the glass so it’s just the wooden pane, you can even buy these at craft stores.. Paint it to look old/weathered (crackle paint) and get a canvas backing that fits the back of the frame.. Have you or a friend paint a beach landscape on the canvas to hang on the wall… So, it would look like a window looking outside ! For your furniture try a Shabby Chic style.. Good luck…
i can get rid of everything but my bunkbed which is black and silver. my room is small so i cant put too much in it. and i can only use a few hundred dollars.
paint the walls a sandy color and get ocean colored curtains and a bedspread… maybe hang a surfboard up for your headboard??? get some kind of blow up palm tree???
I am trying to steer away from seashells and waves and fish decorations, but I love the idea of a calming, ocean-themed bedroom. Do you have suggestions for how I could do this without being juvenile?
Create an accent wall behind your headboard with a tropical mural.

If you have a Hobby Lobby store near you they have a large selection of inexpensive unique home decor.
For example, what would be a good way to get a room with a better view without having to spend the extra cash?
If you ask in advance you will get the normal "thank you for enquiring, the costs will be …. etc etc" A hotel will not give away a premium room in advance if there is still a chance of selling it at the premium price
Go there, at the time of check in, be nice, chat with them a bit, ask if the hotel is fully occupied, could you be "cheeky and ask if you could be considered for an upgrade"- if you have a special reason such as a honeymoon, anniversary etc then this often helps
Admittedly it depends on the mood of the reception desk person, and also if she is in a position of responsibility to make that decision or not….. but it’s always worth asking.
They see so many people who demand because "I am a customer and the customer is always right" that being friendly, approachable and sweet is a breath of fresh air I can tell you!
I have taken ticket to GOA to stay on 4th to 7th Dec. GTDC has no room available then.
Can anyone suggest a hotel having sea view room.
I am in the budget of Rs 1500/-
Please share other hotel information also, if you like to sugest.

I am moving rooms so i get to re-design it. I was thinking modern/beachy. Opinions? Help?
I’m doing the same thing right now and found an awesome example on HGTV’s Rate My Space:
http://ratemyspace.hgtv.com/SNC/ViewItem.aspx?pguid=6db6be3f-1720-4ba3-a081-999042c09b6b&itemGuid=cc0ffd55-b912-4522-b8c0-3a3de5c878aa
The colors remind me of sand and the ocean, but still stay fairly contemporary. Modern is hard to do because it is more about minimalism.
I pretty much copied this idea and it was cheap to do. I also added coral pieces (cheap on eBay) and put a hurricane lamp full of sand and rocks from my favorite beach. Good luck!
