The most obvious choice would be Phuket Island in Thailand, where you can choose an area that fits your style. Patpong Beach is filled with the party crowd, and other areas are mellow and good for families or couples. In Thailand you also have various smaller islands that are cheaper and have different styles as well. A few are near Phuket (which is a large island that doesn't feel like an island) so you could stay half the time in Phuket and then head to Ko Phi Phi, for example, for the rest of the holiday.
