What are some good Tropical/Beach vacations July (from Seattle)?

My partner and I have time off the first week in July this year and are looking to take a Tropical/Beach vacation on our week off. We are from Seattle and would only have one week open for travel so preferably somewhere fairly closer (any plane ride longer than 12 hours would cut our vacation way too short). Any suggestions would be great on where we should go. We are also curious on when a good time to book would be? Many places I’ve researched it is off season, however prices really do not seem to reflect that.

Some places I’ve researched (since July is Hurricane season I have taken that into account during my research):

Cabo San Lucas
Puerto Vallarta
Aruba (outside of Hurricane Belt)
Bonaire (outside of Hurricane Belt)
Curacao (outside of Hurrican Belt)
Hawaii (Maui, and Kaui…though every time I check Hawaii travel prices are SKY HIGH!)

Caro and Puerto Vallarta are getting to be very dangerous

How about La Jolla / San Diego??

I’ve saved some money and want to go on a beach vacation during the winter here(Europe). I was thinking about Miami but I would really like somewhere where its not too damp. I was also thinking about Dubai but the laws there are a bit strict and awkward…
What I want from the place is all year summer with temp. of around 30°C, nice beaches and green areas but with as less humidity as possible…
Do you have any suggestions?

I’d say that Southeast Asia is your best bet because it’s the right temperature in December, but not too humid that time of year, and it gets nicely cool at night. The most obvious choice would be Phuket Island in Thailand, where you can choose an area that fits your style. Patpong Beach is filled with the party crowd, and other areas are mellow and good for families or couples.

In Thailand you also have various smaller islands that are cheaper and have different styles as well. A few are near Phuket (which is a large island that doesn’t feel like an island) so you could stay half the time in Phuket and then head to Ko Phi Phi, for example, for the rest of the holiday. And Thailand is the opposite of Dubai, rules-wise, so if anything you need to be careful not to get too crazy yourself because it’s easy to do, and possibly dangerous.

i am currently in Canada now. doesnt matter where in europe, all europe with nice deals.

europe has many lovely beach destinations, some of them also very cheap, such as greece, turkey, mexico. my best suggestion would be Virgin

My husband and I want to go on a beach vacation this coming December. He is 21 and I am 20. We are wanting to spend no more than $3,500 for the trip itself (not including food and stuff). We also want it to be between 6-10 days. We have looked into Atlantis in Nassau, the U.S. Virgin Islands and cruises. We have been on cruises and we have been to nassau before. Does anybody have other places that are fun to go? Or have you been to these places and think there is one better than the others?

I am interested in going to a five star, all inclusive, adult only and preferably not all honeymooners beach resort in the Caribbean or Mexico (the east side of Mexico). Does anyone have any suggestions or know a travel agency that can help me? I have done some research on the web, but I do not want to end up at a nudist colony or swingers place!

Look at the resorts on St. Lucia. It is arguably the most female friendly island in the Caribbean with it’s white and black sand beaches, the volcano, the rain forest and the best SPA in the Caribbean.. Not all the resorts are 5 star, but the ambiance makes up for it.

What are some good New England town for beach vacation rentals?

I’m trying to find a town in New England to rent a house on a sandy (not rocky) beach, for a couple weeks this summer for my family. Preferably a town with at least some fine dining or night life, but still have the typical New England feel. I’ve never been before, so I’m pretty much going by Hollywood’s portrayal of New England towns…

You would want Falmouth, Chatham, Orleans, Sandwich, Yarmouth and Dennis (all on the Cape)

Beach rentals within walking distance of food/entertainment Destin/Sandestin?

Hoping to find either a condo complex or private home rental in the area for our honeymoon. If it’s a condo, we would prefer something not too huge. Any site suggestions or specifics on places that would be within walking distance of food/entertainment? We would honestly rather not mess with car rentals since this is a short trip and we’re planning to just have a lot of quality private time together.

You may want to stay on Sandestin if you do not want to rent a car or somewhere in the heart of Destin, maybe Silver Shells. If you do stay on Sandestin everything on the beach is a high-rise. If you want something smaller there are some nice town-homes called Tivoli that you should consider. If you stay downtown pretty much everything that has dining and other activities on site will be in a high-rise.
