What is it called when wet Ocean Beach Sand changes when you step on it?

At the beach, when you walk near the water line where the sand is wet from the last wave in, the sand under and near your foot changes due to your weight being placed on the wet sand. An area about 5 times the size of your foot print appears to change because of the pressure. Is thare a scientific name for this change?
