Best Beach Vacations In US in the Summer?

We’ve been to Sarasota in Florida and loved it.
Rented a house there, intend to do so this summer too.
Any other ideas? Must have a lot of activities to do and places to drive that are near (no more than 2-3 hours away).

Myrtle Beach S.C. is a very family orientated fun place to visit.

Great beach and lots of fun!

We are 50s and there are going to be many things to celebrate in march. We want a beach vacation in the Caribbean. I like beach, boyfriend likes casinos, both like to drink but not really into partying with lots of people. Love really good food, much privacy for room. want to keep costs down. Any great ideas will gratefully be appreciated.

Can you recommend an East Coast Beach vacation destination & hotel with an Ocean view?

We are planning our very first trip to sea the Ocean, and there are many beaches along the East Coast to choose from. We would like to know which beaches you found safe & clean, and what hotels you have found that have a great view, (or which ones to stay away from.) We would also like easy access to the beach.

I have visited some beach sites, and there is so much info, it is overwhelming and confusing. Please help us narrow our options down, by sharing your story with us.
Thank You very much !!

Ocean City Maryland is awesome the beach is super clean there is a great boardwalk and a carnival/small amusement park, all of the hotel are on the beach(just walk across the boardwalk) it is basically an island and I’m guessing most of the hotels are about the same you should call the and ask for a room with an ocean view make sure the hotels address is on boardwalk those are the ones on the beach also check out Assateague island it a very short drive and very cool there is a more "rustic beach" and wild ponies and it just a beautiful place to visit and a day pass is not that expensive

Cheap tropical beach vacation out of the United States?

I’m looking for a cheap tropical beach vacation out of the United States. I was thinking Jamaica or Costa rica but I’m thinking they’re a lot better vacation spots in a different country. I want to spend less than $3,000 on the hotel + flights. So any good vacation spots? and if you been to one recently I’d like to know how the trip is. Thanks.

What about Fiji? This place will provide you the atmosphere you need for your dream tropical beach vacation! I have been there several times and I am just amazed by its pristine beaches! If it was up to me, I could stay there forever! There are also many entertainment places where you can rest, dance or meet new nice people! And about the accommodation you can make the booking using one of the websites offering hotel accommodation such as http://www.expedia.com, http://www.booking.com, http://www.hitrooms.com. Personally i prefer to use the last one as it is a book now and pay on arrival system! It means that you just have to make the booking in advance so that you can secure your room and pay for it as soon as you arrive there! What’s more the price they offer me are quite reasonable as for me and for sure the price of the hotel will meet the above mentioned budget! So I will give you the link so that you can have a look and make your decision!

Good luck and enjoy your future tropical beach holiday!

Looking for a remote beach vacation spot on Eastern seaboard.?

I’d like to go on vacation in early September with my girlfriend and we’re looking for a good beach. I like remote beaches, nothing like Myrtle or beaches that are packed with party people or families. Im looking for something from the Outer Banks all the way down to NORTHERN South Carolina. We’re college students so we’re not rich, so please no beaches lined with private beach houses. Any ideas or recommendations?

OK the northern Outer Banks is good but why not go whole hog and do Ocracoke. You can only get there by ferry, it’s still warm, the water is warm – like summer, most of the tourists are gone. :) Take your bike or rent one for your stay and leave up your car parked. Check out www.tripadvisor.com. You should be able to get some good rates after Labor Day. Yeah, you would like Ocracoke. It’s unique in the ways you are looking for.

BTW – if you cross from Hatteras Village the ferry is FREE!

What are some nice places in Maine for a family beach vacation?

My family wants to go to a beach location in Maine for vacation. We’re all adults, so we just want a tranquil area with not too many other people around, especially not too many kids. Ideally it should be within walking distance of a town with restaurants, shopping etc. though, or at least within a 15 min drive. We’ll probably want to rent a beach cottage or something for 4-7 nights. Any general suggestions on what towns/areas to look at, or specific suggestions of beaches/cottages to stay at?

The nudist beaches are the best, and are frequented by a variety of families with lots of kids on weekends, but not as many kids during the week.
